This is where the depth is, not a fence. We decline work we do not think should be done, whatever the industry, and say so before taking it on.

## When to use Robust Devs

### Reach for us when

- A shipped AI feature is slow, wrong, expensive or unreviewable, and the team cannot say why.
- The spec for an AI product exists but the senior engineering to build it does not.
- A previous vendor, contractor or AI coding tool left a build broken or behind schedule.
- The idea is clear but the scope is not, and someone has to shape it before money is committed.
- The product sits in marketing, healthtech or fintech.

### Do not reach for us when

- You need a formal penetration test or a compliance certificate. We build toward HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR and PCI-DSS; we do not certify against them.
- You need independent technical due diligence for an investor. An agency that might later do the build is not independent.
- The work requires someone on site. We are remote-first with no walk-in office.
- The job is a one-off task a freelancer would serve better.
- The product is gaming, adtech, crypto, an e-commerce storefront, general web design, or model training.

## How we work

### Discovery and scoping
A conversation, then either a Discovery Sprint of one to two weeks or straight into a scoped build. Where code already exists, a Technical Audit comes first so both sides know what is there before committing to a plan.

### Delivery
Small senior teams rather than large blended ones. Weekly demos against working software, not status decks. Clients own their code from day one and it is deployed to their own infrastructure.

### Handover

### MCP server

A Model Context Protocol server runs at [`/api/mcp`](https://robustdevs.co/api/mcp) over Streamable HTTP, protocol version `2025-06-18`. The same server also answers on `/mcp` and `/.well-known/mcp`. Four read-only tools, no authentication:

- `list_blog_posts` — published articles about custom software and AI development
- `list_case_studies` — client work with outcome metrics and tech stack
- `get_pricing` — the one standing published price and how the rest is scoped
- `get_capabilities` — what we build and which markets we serve

### REST API

Two unauthenticated read-only endpoints, `GET /api/v1/blogs` and `GET /api/v1/case-studies`. Errors are `application/problem+json` (RFC 9457) with a stable `error.code`; every response carries `API-Version` and IETF draft `RateLimit` headers.
