The Vision & Challenge
The modern e-commerce landscape struggles to replicate the persuasive nature of an in-person sales demonstration. Static product pages and pre-recorded videos often fail to create urgency or answer customer questions in the moment, leaving a significant opportunity for higher engagement and conversion on the table.
A B2B SaaS provider identified this gap. Their concept was to fuse the interactive, high-energy format of live streaming with the transactional efficiency of e-commerce. The primary obstacle was the technical complexity of building such a platform-a system that could handle low-latency video, integrate deeply with existing e-commerce systems, and serve multiple business clients securely.
They partnered with Robust Devs to architect and build the Minimum Viable Product. Our role was to engineer the complete technical foundation, from the streaming infrastructure and Shopify integration to the multi-tenant backend, delivering a market-ready platform for their Live Shopping as a Service business.
The challenge
- The core of the platform required a video streaming solution with very low latency to allow for real-time interaction between the host and the audience. This system also had to be reliable at scale.
- The product needed to connect deeply with Shopify. This meant real-time product data synchronization, the ability to display products during a live stream, and an in-stream checkout process.
- The platform was designed for other businesses to use. This required a secure multi-tenant architecture where each client could manage their own events, branding, and product catalogs independently.
How we solved it
- We engineered a low-latency video pipeline on AWS infrastructure, ensuring the system could scale to support a large number of concurrent viewers without compromising stream quality.
- We built a dedicated integration module for the Shopify API. This allowed for automatic synchronization of product catalogs and an embedded cart system that let viewers purchase without leaving the event.
- We developed a multi-tenant backend using Laravel that isolated each client's data. We then built a custom dashboard where businesses could schedule events and view real-time analytics on engagement and sales.

Integrated Commerce Engine
This engine connects the live video stream directly to a client's Shopify store. It automatically pulls product data, allowing hosts to feature items on screen with a single click. Viewers can add these products to their cart and complete the purchase without leaving the live event, which reduces friction and captures buying intent at its peak.
Event Management Dashboard
We provided a central control panel for our partner's clients. From this dashboard, they can schedule and manage their live shopping events, customize the player with their own branding, and monitor performance. Real-time analytics provide direct insight into viewer numbers, product clicks, and sales conversions, giving them the data needed to refine their strategy.
